Board members share their heart
by sharing their testimony...
Eugene Bailey, BCF Study Member (Huntington Beach)
First of all my dad was a minister before I was
born. Although born into a Christian home I did not know Jesus Christ
as my Lord as Savior.

Ethel Burden, BCF Study Leader (Huntington Beach)
I was introduced to Jesus Christ and accepted him
at the early age of 4 years old. My parents were very instrumental as
examples and taught me and my siblings about Jesus as far back as I
can remember.

Marcos Chu , BCF Study Member (Huntsville)
Growing up in Brazil, I would “attend” a Chinese
Church and go to Sunday school. I would be the kid that would eat the
snack before the Sunday school teacher would say prayer.

Dave Davis, BCF President (Huntington Beach)
I was raised in the Baptist Faith and was baptized
at the age of 12. I spent the next 40 years as what I would call a "Sunday
Christian" … going to Church on Sunday but not really serving the Lord.

Tracey Espero, BCF Study Leader (Huntington Beach)
I grew up in a home without the Lord; I was never
in a group of people who loved me except for my family.

Bill Heckathorn, BCF Study Leader (Seal Beach)
I was raised in a Christian home from birth and
was always taken to Sunday School and church. Through my Dad’s Air
Force career, we attended non-denominational Christian Chapels. I do
not know that I fully understood the Word, but I was being prepared.

James Herndon, BCF Study Member (Huntington Beach)
There was no dramatic revelation that happened
to bring me to Christ. It seems to me that I've always believed. Even
when I wasn't a practicing Christian I would come to Christ and church
to lift my spirits.

Malcolm L Lapeyrolerie, BCF Study Leader (Huntington Beach)
I was raised in a small country town named Edgard
in Louisiana and was a member of the Catholic Church as a child and
young adult.

Dick Lewis, BCF Study Member (Huntington Beach)
I was brought up in the church and had the perfect
attendance star beside my name in Sunday School. Unfortunately, I would
walk out those big doors on Sunday unsure if God really related to my
everyday life.

Nancy Maggio, BCF Study Member (Huntington Beach)
It was the passing of my father that brought me to the Lord in 1979.

Brendan McMillan, BCF Study Leader (Seal Beach)
I was born and raised in southern California and
it was quite natural for my family to attend church every Sunday morning.
My father played the organ/piano for our church choir and my uncle (mother's
side) was the pastor of our church.

Tom Phillips, BCF Study Leader (Seal Beach)
I grew up in a home with parents that loved God.
But because one parent was Catholic and the other Baptist and the fact
that they could not agree on how to raise their children I grew up without
participation in religion.

Mary Ravetta, BCF Study Leader (Huntington Bch)
I grew up with an active and spiritual Episcopal mother and a
non-active Methodist father so I had no doubt about being Protestant.

Brian Smith, BCF Study/Worship Leader (Huntington Bch)
I
was raised in the Catholic Church and believed that good people go to
heaven, bad people go to hell and as long as I wasn't a criminal, God
would let me in to heaven. However when I was 11 years old, my mom came
home from church all excited.

Richard Tkach, BCF Communications Director (Huntington Bch)
I was raised in the Catholic Faith since an early age and had two wonderful role models in my parents who were very involved in the church as religious educators, ushers and helping those on spiritual retreats. We would attend church services frequently and were encouraged to join Bible studies and help out with outreach programs.

Daniel Wood, BCF Study Leader (Huntington Beach)
I was born and raised in a Catholic family, attended
church regularly, and went to Catholic school. I always had a heart
for God, but I grew up not really understanding the true Gospel message.
